El Guincho
with Mark Barrage, Rat vs. Possum, DJ Tim Shiel Sophie from Mistletone asked if I was coming to this gig when I went to see Xiu Xiu in September, I wasn't going to originally but decided to go in the past month. As with most of the bands I go to see at the East Brunswick Club, I was one of the first ones in prompting Tim Shiel to say "so there's one man taking a photo of another man, isn't that a bit creepy." Mark Barrage was alright, I haven't really heard much of that sort of music before. Matt from Rat vs Possum has been trying to get me to come see them for a while. I enjoyed them the most on the night as did a middle-aged couple from England I met on the tram going into the city who asked where they could see them next. I will try to go see them again some time as I would like to see them do a longer set. It was a sold out show for El Guincho, I ended up going up the back after Bombay was played and quite a few people didn't last the full set for some reason. I was glad I stayed though as they played a great song for the encore.
