Screwtop Detonators, The Gingers, Yidcore, Bittersweet KicksPint on Punt I have been going to the Pint on Friday for the last few weeks after having a break for quite a while, which has been great. As I go there every day on my way home from work anyway it saved three trips home going straight from work this time. The Screwtop Detonators having been playing around town for a while now after coming over from Perth. This was the first time I saw them however and I thought they went quite well. There was only one microphone available on the night, but I thought it made their set better as the vocalist and guitarist had to lean into the microphone to sing together. I hadn't seen the Gingers since last year at the Spot with the Twits so it was great to see them again. They have a new drummer now and I managed to get them to sign their poster after the show which was great. The last time I saw Yidcore was before I started taking photos of bands (2003!) so it was great to finally see them again after all this time. No hummus being thrown this time, but there was a lot of comedy spitting and beer being poured down a shofar to celebrate one band member leaving so I ended up hiding behind the speaker. It would be good to hear more bands doing traditional music rock style as they were the most popular songs in their set. The Bittersweet Kicks closed the pub and had a good time with their friends as the Pint is now officially their home ground so they can get away with more there. I will see how I go next week, but I might go up to the Tote to see how they go there.
