Shane Howard Goanna Dreaming CD Launch
Special guests Sally Dastey, Amy Saunders, Kerryn Tolhurst, Bart Willoughby, Archie Roach and many more I had heard of Goanna band before but not that much lately I admit, from what I heard the tickets for this show sold so fast they had to schedule a second show pretty much after the first day they went on sale so lots of people were looking forward to it. On the week of the show I heard about the special guests, which was exciting and I was definitely looking forward to it then. I saw Sally Dastey recently at the Ova2You cancer benefit show and it was great to see her again and have a chat to her out in the "Miller Bar" with Tracey. I still remember seeing her New Year's Eve 2003 over at the Cornish Arms and attempting to walk home from Brunswick to Caulfield (only made it as far as the city.) There were lots and lots of people by the time the band started and it was funny that the lucky door prize was won by Tim Costello as he had only just got a seat before the show started. As it turned out it was a great show and Shane Howard and band played for over two hours with lots of special guests and an extra special guest spot by Archie Roach at the end to join in on an epic version of "Sold Rock". It was a great night and people were still there at 1am when I left wanting to talk to Shane and the band and buy his CD (I didn't have enough money on me unfortunately.) Thanks to Lynne for giving me a lift home and I am looking forward to Renee Geyer on 23rd July and a return performance of Shane Howard on the 27th August.
