The Shimmys CD Launch
with Run-out Grooves, Cherry Smash and the Hipster Go-go Dancers I hadn't seen the Shimmys for a while, so when they asked if they could use some of my photos on their new CD I was glad to let them. For some reason I thought they were on at a different pub, but I still made it in time in the end and stopped at San Churros on Brunswick St for a shot glass of chocolate and churros. I normally go to see rock, punk and country bands so it was great to see some 60s style music and Run-out Grooves and Cherry Smash were very loud as it turns out, but everyone still enjoyed them. The Shimmys were great as always and as an extra bonus they even had backup go-go dancers who were really good I thought. It was a shame that they didn't get a longer set, but it was still a great night and afterwards I managed to stop in at the Pint on the way home to see the last few songs of Steve Lucas and the Empty Horses.
