with the Leisuremasters, Andre Calemeri & the Black Hearts, Johnny's last karaoke
Pint on Punt, Greyhound
The day after the smoking ban came in and I didn't think many people would be in the
pub for some reason. It turned out to be wrong however as a heap of people must have
gone out to see what the pubs were like without any smokers. Time will tell if any
uppity in-your-face anti-smokers start coming out though leading to a sharp rise in glassings at
pubs all over Melbourne.
I spent most of my time at the Pint walking between the Leisuremasters and going to
the bistro to check how the boys' poker game was going. I never found out who won.
After the first set I walked down to karaoke at the Greyhound with Fred, Deb and Michelle
in time to catch the last couple of songs of Andre Calemeri & the Black Hearts who sounded
good.
As I had asked Johnny to get specific song for me to sing, I made sure to have some
singing juice beforehand. I was surprised to be the second one up and as I didn't recognise
my voice when it came out of the fold back I ended up signing like I sounded at my
30th birthday party (drunk!) If you must know it was Ghostbusters that I sung (it was
either that or Majesty of Rock.)
I didn't stay right until the end, but I am sure everyone had a good time and I will try
to call into the hotel where Johnny is working during the week after work.
