I had been invited to the opening of this venue a couple of weeks ago and as I
was already taking a day off the next day so I could go to Sarah Carroll's 'Pirate Girl' EP
launch, I decided to make a proper night of it rather than going straight home.
I arrived just before Cockfight Shootout finished their first set (they were very loud)
and then got to talk to Fred, Lush & Chris (the Twits are playing there soon) and Dolores
and Shane Shane. Even though it was the first night, I thought it was a good crowd and
everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.
There are quite a few venues on Sydney Rd in Brunswick now and hopefully this one will
be able to build up a following for Wednesday nights. I am already planning to take another
day off in May so I can go to see The Twits and the Gingers play at the venue.
If you are looking for something to do on a Wednesday, then I recommend you go and check
this venue out as there are some great bands coming up. |
