Damian Cowell's Disco Machine Disco Christmas 2019

26/26/2019

with Twinkle Digitz, Men Imitating Machines
Northcote Social Club, Saturday 21st December 2019

Due to living further out of the city these days I can't go out late during the week as I would not be able to get home so no Jordie Lane Christmas gig for me this year plus I was not working. Friday being so hot put the pin into any plans for that day also as I went to Highpoint and stayed there for the day.

I had not been to see Disco Machine since last year, so I was looking forward to this show.

Twinkle Digitz had played a few times before but I always seem to have something on. From Emily I heard that Wham and Dazz may be making a comeback next year some time. I did like the song about the movie Black Christmas that has only been released on a compilation so far.

Men Imitating Machines are a band I had not heard of before but where an interesting enough set up with visuals being part of the act. Also a "you're out of the band!" shtick and some actual stuff ups and tales of plumbers' Christmas parties where everyone left when they came on.

I had told Emily that I would not be taking so many photos of her hair this year, but I ended up blocked in over the left side so I kind of had to. Also a great time in the middle of the gig to find out my camera flash stopped working even if I don't really use it. Was a great gig, but I had to leave straight after due to having a wake the next day. Hopefully everyone kicked on after and had a good time late into the night.
