Footscray Park New Year's Eve 2019

I was looking around for something to go to closer to home this year as I am a bit over having to transit through the city after midnight on New Year's Eve. Was a couple of gigs that looked promising in Brunswick but I decided on this one as it finished earlier so I could be home before the crowds. Due to having some errands to run beforehand I ended up in the city at the State Library. Unfortunately all my work was not saved when the files did not transfer to USB, boo!

By the time I arrived down at Footscray Park it was almost 6pm and I did get to wave to Mikey who was on MC duties and did get to talk to him between sets. He did actually go down into the crowd and get kids to tell him jokes but none of them made sense or even have any logic. Dinner at Pizza Pony and wait for the first act.

I had not seen Peter Combe for several years but he was as good as I remembered. Great local dancers also, I wonder if Anna Go Go could perform next year with the class?

Olympia was up next and apologised that Peter Combe had finished. She did have rather high boots on but I noticed they came off as soon as she finished her set. She had been doing shows around town but I had missed them due to not working.

Before Jazz Party I did get to say hello to some of the band and their friends. Ruby was there but I did not see her. Was a great show with 11 people in the band plus guest dancers. They should have been on last but I was not the one booking the bands.

After the set finished I started walking up the hill to find a good place to watch the fireworks. Speeches went for so long I was almost at the top of the hill near the road when the fireworks started. I was home by 11.30pm in time to watch the fireworks in TV.
