Was quite a gap between the in store at Basement Discs and this event. I had planned to go to the State Library and then get dinner in the city. Was there for a lot longer than I was usually and even had someone come say hello while I was in there and got shushed taking a phone call.

In hindsight I probably should have gone back home as it was way too long to be in the city before the gig. Also it got cold by the time I got to the venue and they would not turn the coffee machine back on so I could get a hot chocolate.

Was good to see all the bands and have the intro before each act and a bit more of an explanation of the artists' songs. Not many bands do this consistently or I have seen then enough I already know the stories they tell about the songs.

As it turns out this will be the first and last songwriter sessions gig as it happened on the day everything started getting cancelled.

Hopefully the bands involved get some other work in the meantime and continue to write songs.
