Ben Mastwyk and his Millons "Living on Gold Street" Album Launch

I had heard of this but wasn't too keen until Ben was on Twang and said the venue let people buy single tickets to shows, but what really clinched it for me was Loretta being added to the bill for her own set.

The doors for this gig were way too early as they expected people to drink. Next time I will not rush to get there if it is not going to start until an hour and a half later. There is a new kitchen to go along with the rest of the fit out but I will be eating someplace else.

The first band was a bit more low-key traditional country. I did not catch their name and had to look it up later.

Dan Brodie played his first gig for at least eighteen months; he could have gone later in the night easy but I am guessing they wanted people to get there early.

There was a big fashion parade during the night which was nice to see, but it pushed out times a bit and things were already running late.

Cheers to Ruby and Ginger who came and sat on my table to watch Loretta's set.

Ben Mastwyk had a big band and a bunch of guests for his set, but I ended up leaving early since there were no trains plus I had work the next day.

I ended up going back to the venue the same week for the "Pants on Fire" show as part of the comedy festival. The sound issues that the venue previously had seem to have been fixed and the stage is at one end rather than being in the middle which kind of made it awkward. The room is much longer now with a raised section at the back with the smoker's balcony at the back. Band room much better and a staircase for a dramatic entry during shows. They made good use of it during the fashion parade.

My next show there was going to be Dustyesky but they had to postpone it due to lockdown. Hopefully Sarah and Neil Murray or the Anzac Day show.
