A Celebration of the Life and Legacy of JTE
with Henry Wagons, Lachlan Bryan, Kerryn Fields, Matt Joe Gow, Katie Bates, Ben Mastwyk, Joyce Prescher, Duncan Phillips, Stephen Grady, Rhianna Fibbins, Les Thomas and the Millions House Band
Brunswick Ballroom, 1pm show Saturday 6th November 2021

After this was rescheduled several times I was finally glad to get to see it as it was going to my first gig back after lockdown. Last year my first gig after the lockdown was also a rescheduled gig and it was the end of November rather than near the start.

I had only ever seen Justin Townes Earle once at a Grand Ole Twang show at RRR FM. He was at Out on the Weekend one time I was there but I didn't end up staying to see him. I know people who went to see him every time and enjoyed it each time.

Due to capacity restrictions there were three gigs scheduled that day and no hanging around as they had to get everyone out for the next show.

While I had heard from most of the people on the bill there were some new ones for me and it was great to see them. I went to the afternoon show so most of the people I knew who went to see it went to one of the later shows.

I enjoyed all the songs in the two sets and the big sing along of Harlem River Blues at the end as everyone had asked if they could sing it for their song.

After the show I did get to say hello to Henry Wagons and promised I would get a ticket for Out on the Weekend (I got it the next day). I was hoping to see Rhianna Fibbins to say hello but she did wave from the side of the stage during the show. Another time.
