This show had already been rescheduled and it was touch and go if it was going to go ahead as a COVID safe public event. Liz herself only found out when she was on-air on RRR FM the Wednesday before the first of the two shows on Friday. I had originally booked Saturday as I wanted to make sure I could get there and not have to come from work. Wagons was the last show I had seen at the venue not long before I went over to the USA in 2019.

I did get to talk to Al Parkinson before the show, which was great as I had not seen her for a while. Diz and Anne were up the front with me also. I did get to talk to Sticks and Brett said hello before he went to do the sound. Unfortunately I didn't see Kat or anyone else who wanted to talk to me, masks made it harder to recognise people.

Carissa Nyalu went well as the support and was a good way to finish off NAIDOC week having an indigenous support act and not just doing an acknowledgement. Liz was meant to have played a show up in Darwin with Leah Flannagan but ongoing border closures means that will not happen until next year.

Having about five months between the album coming out and album launch show means everyone knew all the songs and was looking forward to it. All new band for the tour and it was great to see Olivia Haley from Oh Pep! as I had not seen her since 2018.

It was a great show and I understand why Liz put The Metrologist not right at the end. Not sure about having to have an explanation about how she no longer feels like she did in the song but some people don't read all the interviews and press before the gig so might not have gotten the message. I didn't think she talked too much as was the anecdote about the previous night's show.

There was someone up the front who claimed to be a big fan of Liz but I had never seen them before. Maybe just the recorded work and shows I didn't go to but that would not be many. I had a good laugh about that one. Was a lot of people I had never seen at Liz's show at this one but that is bound to happen given the current album got to 14 in the ARIA charts. Ended up having a conversation with a newer fan about driving 12 hours to see Liz play on a back of truck outside at pub in Nymagee.

Due to another lockdown I don't know if the rest of the tour is going ahead or the other solo gigs Liz had lined up. Is getting too far into the year to keep bumping things one or two months into the future. I do still have the album and even got the Live at the Yarra CD/DVD which I had not gotten until now.
