I had not seen All Our Exes Live in Texas for five years so was looking forward to this heaps.

Did not expect it to be so busy and also no chairs up the front so I didn't get to sit down except between bands on the edge of the stage.

I had not seen Merpie for quite a while, last time was supporting Oh Pep! the last time I saw them play at the Corner Hotel in 2018. I thought she went well.

Due to Elana Stone getting sick from gastro 45 minutes before showtime the band had to go ahead as just a three piece. This would be fine if they knew all the songs, but unfortunately for some of Elana's they did not quite know all the words and no one from the audience wanted to come up and sing (I could hear someone behind me singing them), preferring to see them suffer on stage.

Elana also is the enforcer of the band as the show was a bit loose in other ways but also very fun, I wouldn't have expected so much laughter from the band in such a bad situation. I liked the very new songs from two of the band members even Katie's very bad jokes and stories she had not cleared with the rest of the band. It certainly was a memorable show when I think about it and I was happy with the photos of the band laughing and having fun.

I was glad to have seen the band again even in a reduced capacity and getting home late with Supanova to go to the next day. Got caught in the rainstorm walking home and heard Shane Warner had died while I was on the train coming home so that was not so good. Having to go straight to bed and not look at the photos was torture as I knew they were so good, had to be strict or I would have still been up at 5am or something and I can't do that these days.
