Ian Bland emailed me about getting some photos for a project he was working on last year. A bit of a surprise as he had taken the time to go through my website looking for newer photos as hardly anyone actually goes on it these days. I ended up getting the high res photos for him and didn't think much more of it.
When I heard that is was going to be released finally I certainly was going to buy it as it was for charity and I don't often get to see my work in print. I did do those photo magazines but postage costs ruled out anyone wanting to buy them (Ian Bland agreed to have his poem is in one of them, the "Suburban Trains" one he read at this launch.)
Due to logistics and the fact that the album was a concept album it was not possible to have all 62 artists from it playing on the night. Would have taken more time just to get more people on and off the stage than the actual album took. Was a selection of some of the more popular acts who did a few songs each with some doing extended versions of the song from the album.
It was a great show and hopefully more people buy the album as I have played it a lot and have noticed tracks have turned up from it on the local community radio stations as they can use it for gaps between songs or sponsorship announcements where a full song will not fit (Tim Thorpe on Vital Bits edits several together to do blocks.)
