“O Brother Where Art Thou?” The Soundtrack Live

I booked this when it first went on sale as I always liked the soundtrack and movie and even remember going to see the concert film at the Treasury Theatre back in the day as part of the documentary festival.

There are a few different tribute nights around at the moment and even a band that plays songs that were featured in Quentin Tarantino movies but not exclusively one that has done this film's songs before. I had been meaning to go see the Collingwood Casanovas for a while but had not gotten around to it. Loretta and Tracy have been in a lot of these sorts of shows back in the day at the Caravan Music Club so it was great to see them again.

I did like the first song when they started singing from behind the curtain and walked on stage with a shovel. Also the microphone set up was well done with old time type microphones and the instruments being acoustic. Some of the songs were from the concert film rather than just the movie but they all fit in quite well.

Even just from the photos you can tell what song it was with one of the highlights being Tracy Miller doing "O Death" and of course the old Man of Constant Sorrow by the band.

It was a great day and hopefully they get to do it again in the future as it should go well if they want to have it as a touring show or just put it on occasionally.
