I hadn't managed to make it to one of these before as I always seemed to have something on the same day and it is too far up the road for me to go from one thing to another. When an opportunity presented itself due to another show rescheduling again and me deciding to cancel I thought I should at least check it out as there were a few people I wanted to see there.

It was my first trip on the new sky rail up to Coburg, turned out it was not that far from the station. I took the opportunity to buy lunch from the sandwich bar I went to in 2009 where I worked nearby and prices had only gone up $1 in 13 years. I know there was catering at the venue for the day but I had gotten lunch and dinner the day before when I was out (I got chips towards the end of the day.)

I did get to talk to Miriam at the stalls but not sure how many people ended up buying stuff. You have to be there to sell anything I guess so it is something.

Kat was meant to be playing with Craig Woodward at the start of the day but could not make it. It was still good even though not that many people were there at the time.

Unfortunately I had not been able to make Ruby Jones album launch despite buying the album and really wanting to go as it was during the week and I was having to travel over to Box Hill and back every day at the time. It was great to finally see her and get to talk about her new album in the work and also Loretta's.

As I had missed Imperial Leather the previous week by opting to go see Even playing on the Australia Day holiday it was good to see them again since I had last seen the band last year when Jazz Party played at the Corner Hotel in the time between lockdowns. It was much better this time as even though I had to work the next day I did not go to bed a 2.30am that morning.

It had been quite a while since I saw Danny Walsh Banned and I had not been to see Reservoir Stomp due to it being all the way up in Reservoir and too far to get home from. They would say the Weed does travel a long way for the gigs but I don't have a car which makes it difficult.

Overall it was an enjoyable day even though I thought there would have been more people and I had trouble seeing the bands due to the sun coming through the blinds. Hopefully I will make it back at least one more time this year when there is someone I want to see.
