Tim Chuma's Photos

George Lane, Sunday 27th August 2023

I had arranged to have the day off after this gig rather than having it off after the end of the film festival the previous week so I didn't need to rush off straight away so I was looking forward to this show. I did not get a premium table but still managed to get seating as I got there early enough.

This was Dan's first band show since his launch earlier in the year and he has since announced he will be playing as a double act with Marcel Borrack under the name Night Parrots due to all the work they put in recording the album and rehearsing for the launch and this gig.

There were a couple of people who travelled quite a way to get to this gig so they were incentivised to put on a good show and they did.

Much amusement was had by me from Marcel's magical disappearing/reappearing facial hair, even in the photos you can't really tell. Maybe I had a bit to drink but still not as much as I did at Dog Trumpet and people did not go and stand in front of the tables in the second set like that gig.

I wasn't going to rush off really but did not end up staying as long as I thought I would after. I was good to know I did not have to worry about going to work the next day still.

Looking forward to Dan's next gig as the Night Parrots and Dan and Al at the end of the year.
