with the Burnt Sausages
Ciccio Pizza, Saturday 18th November 2023

I was humming and hahing about this gig due to it being kind of awkward to get to being half an hour walk from both the Craigieburn and Upfield train lines. When I saw the Burnt Sausages were added to the line-up as support it decided it for me. Even though the buses finished early so it was only walking or Uber and oh yes there were 12 train lines not running that day.

As it turns out I still managed to get there early and ended up going out the back to talk to SNAGZ and the crew. Due to it being a concrete floor in the courtyard my leg started going numb almost straight away so I had to get a chair. It worked better for me as I did not have worry about getting in the way.

At this point I can pretty much sing along to every Burnt Sausages song and I have painted SNAGZ on a Christmas window on Sydney Rd. I always get a lot of photos during their set and they had a lot going on so it turned out I took most of the photos for the gig during their set. Some of the metal fans got a little bit too enthusiastic but it was all in good fun.

Due to not seeing Pizza Death before I didn't know how they were going to go. I had heard of them but did not know anyone else who was going to the gig apart from Burnt Sausages. This one seems to have bought the dedicated fans along as they were at the end of their tour and this one took a bit of work to get to and had a capacity of 80 at the gig.

It was a fun enough show and the band had a lot of high energy songs. The pizza party part of the night did not work out as well unfortunately as it was chips to seagulls every time they bought out pizzas. If I had known I would have gotten something to eat at the fish and chip place down the road but it was supposedly included in the price.

This was the second time this year I have had to go out of my way for a gig, the first being the Tides of Welcome 20th Anniversary gig in Queenscliff and that required an overnight stay.

Luckily I have everything sorted for the rest of the year but at least I can see I saw Pizza Death play in a pizza place and was the photographer there.
