Kindred Bandroom, Saturday 16th September 2023

Was kind of on the fence about this gig until quite recently but I had not seen either of these bands for over a year so I thought I may as well. Also it was much closer to home than usual so I would not be home late.

Sweethearts seems to have a new lineup these days as it is a high school band and people eventually have to leave. I can't say I know who actually helps with the band either these days? They were as good as I remember and even played an old Clairy Browne and the Bangin' Rackettes song. Simone from the band did teach them some dance removes I remember from the documentary but that is quite a while ago.

Some people from the Rebelles did say hello before the show but apart from the band with the instruments I don't really recognise people without their wig and the Rebelles outfits.

They did play all their old standards and some newer songs. Due to it being a Saturday night and having their parents there all the Sweethearts got to stay and danced up the front. I ended up sitting down due to my leg being a bit sore from the night before.

I did get asked if I wanted to hang out after but wanted to get home early for once. Hopefully I will get to see both bands again soon.
