I had missed Dog Trumpet the last time they played at the Brunswick Ballroom so it was great they were playing again. Along with SnarskiLindyCircusBand who I had seen earlier in the year at the Malthouse but decided not to take photos as someone told me off for taking photos at A Rational Fear the night before even though the show host had said I could take photos. As with everything this year I had to wait for much longer than I thought I would to actually get a ticket.

It was good to see Jonnie Goes to Church again as it is always nice to see Celia. I had missed their album launch due to extreme lack of money at the time. I will get around to buying their album when I can manage it, Centrelink is still paying me money even when I get paid from work. Lindy Morrison caused much amusement by replying from backstage through the curtain to something Celia said on stage.

This show was meant to be a triple bill but most people turned up for the second two bands and even more by the time Dog Trumpet turned up. I swear SnarskiLindyCircusBand could have flipped a coin as to who was going to play first between them and Dog Trumpet. If you haven't seen this band all of the band has to sing as it is a "circus band" and also Lindy got to do some long introductions to songs. I have suggested to Rob that they do some spoken word shows and he said he is encouraging Lindy Morrison to write a book.

It was a funny set as always mainly from the extended bits Lindy did and the reactions from the rest of the band. I did get to talk to Pete from Dog Trumpet before they played as I don't remember doing so before.

Luckily there were some spare seats up the front of the room for Dog Trumpet as my leg and back were starting to hurt and no seats left up the back. I took some photos at the start of their set and then ended up putting the camera away for most of it. I don't know who does their socials but I did end up sharing my photos with them eventually. After the show I even got Reg to sign the biography of Mental As Anything. I will try to make it back to see them when they tour in Melbourne in the future as it is always fun.
