Linda Ronstadt Show featuring Ella Hooper

13/13/2024

with the Deadnecks backing band, Miss Eileen and Alex Hamilton
Brunswick Ballroom, Sunday 27th October

I had seen a preview of this show at the 40th Anniversary of Denise Hylands on RRR FM and wanted to go but the show had already had its run at the time. I reserved a spot for this one months ago and was looking forward to it.

Even though Van Walker was on the day before I decided not to go as I had a couple of weeks already of going out 3 nights in a row and wanted to have a rest. I will see him another time.

Was a bunch of people in for this show as Linda Ronstadt has a lot of songs and you would know them even if you don't think you do not.

I enjoyed seeing Miss Eileen and Alex Hamilton as I haven't seen her for ages.

The Deadnecks backing band was good and they did get to change instruments a lot with the slide guitar featuring on a lot of the songs.

Ella Hooper seemed to be having the best time. Much like Nick Barker I have not actually seen them do their own actual songs. He said he enjoys doing these sort of shows and it keeps a lot of people in work. I did want to see Ella Hooper back in 1994 but the outside broadcast caravan at JJJ at the all ages gig I went to was running overtime and I wanted to go see the Living End.

As you can see from all the photos I did enjoy the show as did Ella and she got to go out into the audience for some songs. I will try to get and see her other band in the future.
