No Fixed Address at Brunswick Ballroom 27/01/24
with Mulga Bore Hard Rock Band, Blackfire
Brunswick Ballroom, Saturday 27th January 2024
I had booked this in between Christmas and New Year not actually knowing Mulga Bore Hard Rock Band was going to be playing but as I wanted to see No Fixed Address and had not seen Bart Willoughby for ages.
Got to try out the new place across the road but maybe will get a bahn mi next time and not the rice bowl. Got there plenty early and had to hang around outside. Cheers to whoever said I could swap with them so I ended up with one of the front tables which I rarely get at this venue.
Mulga Bore Hard Rock Band were all on their phones playing games when I got upstairs. They have a minder since they are still so young. Got the crowd up and dancing by the end, maybe they should have played later in the night for this reason? Was great to see Kutcha Edwards introducing them and getting up to sing on a couple of the songs. The person managing the band wanted to get some happy snaps with some people at the end and I did but maybe better to do that before or after the show?
I had not seen Blackfire before but did recognise one of the people in the band he used to be on Marngrook and I think played in another band I can't quite remember who it was at the moment.
It was good to finally see No Fixed Address but I did not want to out so late after the previous weekend so I left a bit early. Everyone seemed to be having a good time with and I hope their overseas trip goes well.
