Due to no trains on the Upfield line I had to get the train back to the city which meant I would have to squash onto the No. 96 tram half way through the city. I was going to get the train around the loop and then the tram but just ended up walking back to the Sandringham platform and waiting for the No. 16. Since they took the No. 3 off the St Kilda route it is a sardine can getting to St Kilda from the city as no one wants to walk a few hundred metres from St Junction as it is "too hard". I still managed to get to St Kilda super early and even with a drink at the bowlo and then dinner at Mama Raes I was still waiting outside super early.

I had been invited to the gig on the Sunday but had passed on it due to it being a pain to get home and in the middle of Moomba. Also I turned out to have life drawing the next day so wouldn't be making it.

I had seen Charlie Lane late last year and gotten a few of Charlie Needs Braces singles but had not actually seen them yet.

Wild Gloriosa seems quite nice even though I had not heard of her before. I will look out for her in the future.

Charlie Lane got to play with a band not just duo like I saw her play last time. Apparently she only met the band on the day, if so I thought she went quite well.

Ruby Mae was great and I enjoyed her set even the funny one she did near the end.

I did say hello to Charlie from Charlie Needs Braces before the show but we had not actually met before so I didn't expect that much of a conversation. I think they expected more people to get up and dance which does not really happen that much at this venue. I had passed on coming down to the St Kilda Festival and was not going out the next couple of weeks after so I wanted to go see them at this show. Was a great set and every one of their shows is different as they build the loops live for each song.

Due to doing life drawing the next morning starting at 7.30am I got an Uber home straight after due to no trains in the evening on my line for 3 months in a row. I am sure everyone enjoyed the headliner for the night and I hope there are more showcases like this in the future.
