I wasn't actually going to go this year until they announced the lineup of the bands including Frente and Spiderbait. Due to having to get a Working With Children check to volunteer I could not justify having to spend money on it just to photograph this event so I went in as a punter. Also due to already having stuff I had booked and paid for on the previous two nights I decided to take the next day off as I have paid holidays I may as well use them.

I rushed out so quickly from home I had to go a get a bag for the Community Cup LP I promised to buy for someone and post to them (have not hear from them yet) and also some twiggy salami to give to the puppies I took a photo of.

Was great to see Cong Josie as I always end up missing their shows due to having something on. I also got to stand with Simoncee, Camilla and Loretta in the last quarter and get a photo of them.

I had been to see Charlie Needs Braces for their album launch but ended up leaving after two songs as it was very late and my hurt too much by the time they started. I did get to see their whole set this time in between running off to get a photo of the puppy. Had to laugh at people who would not let their dog have a twiggy salami when someone told me the dog spent the entire day eating stuff off the ground, they could not stop it.

I knew of Surprise Chef but had not seen them before. Was alright I thought.

A bit disappointed that Frente only did the one song, the way it was advertised looked like they were a featured band. Much the same as Fred Negro supposedly being the coach of the Rockodgs and he left before the match even started. Angie actually apologised for me leaving early and not seeing her sing with Spiderbait even though that was my decision!

As with previous years it is pretty much impossible to get food or drinks after half time even with them bringing more stuff in. Seemed like everyone was in a line. I got dim sims and chips at quarter time and that was enough.

Can't say I really watched the game as you can see from the score their wasn't really much to watch. Most people in the crowd are talking to each other and only really pay attention in the last quarter. They did try and put more professionalism into in a few years ago which led to actual injuries and people swearing off it. Results have been a lot closer in the past few years.

As it turned out I was too tired to stay for Spiderbait and could not get a decent angle to get a photo due to not being allowed to go right in front of the stage without media access. I got to the ground about half an hour before the gates opened so it was a long enough day already! I will see how I go for next year going but I went and enjoyed myself and did more than enough that weekend that I had the next couple of weeks off and did not go out which I am doing more these days as I have to book ahead. I did decide to get a VLine home to Tarneit which in hindsight I should have done at the start of the day but figured I had spent more than enough this weekend so one trip only!
