with Crittenden Tyndall
Soundworks Music Studio, Friday 17th July 2026
I didn't have that much on this weekend so was happy enough to go to this. Even got to call into the Drunken Poet as I came straight from work and probably could have stayed there longer than just the one pint as I was still about an hour early. Got to talk to Dave Evans on the street who was doing his rounds on a Friday night.
Had not heard of this venue before but it seems to be mainly a music practice studio with a bar attached. It seemed alright but no food there, you have to go down to Sydney Rd to get something.
Lisa/Crittenden Tyndall was the one who invited me and seemed like they had a few people from their work there too. I thought her set was fine, if you don't tell people, you made a mistake they won't know in your own songs. Some musicians deliberately make a mistake or change stuff when playing as they get bored of it too.
Although I had heard of Alison Ferrier and the Upshots, I had not seen them until now. I had been meaning to! Alison is funny during her shows! I would like to see her doing more spoken word bits in the future. Funniest bit was someone asking me if one particular person was gay during the show. I don't know! I'm not the holder of the LGBTIQ+ rolodex!
