The Models at Kindred Bandroom 20/02/26

05/05/2026

Kindred Bandroom, Friday 20th February 2026

It had been quite a few years since I saw the Models play when they were performing as the Models Super Orchestra at Caravan Music Club in Oakleigh.

This gig was my side of town and I had been working from home so it was easier for me to get to. I always seemed to have something on for their other gigs. Was good to have an option to have dinner there, I am not sure if they do it that much. The Yarraville Club is 15 minutes' walk away if you want something else.

As expected, a lot of the audience was a bit older and would have appreciated the early start and finish times. Even Mark Ferrie said "we had to go off and take our medication".

Due to no seating, I took all my photos in the first two songs and then went and sat on the bench seat that runs along the wall where Max Crawdaddy was DJing. This was also a trial for me going to the Interrupt Festival on the long weekend in March. It is a bit different for that one as you can walk in and out to go "chill out" outside as the music is mostly continuous.

Was still great to see the band still going strong and I will try to get to see them again soon including Mark's other band 2 Minute Noodles.
