with MC Crispi/Ernie, Georgia Fields, Charles Jenkins, Leah Senior, Rhiz and the Sugarplums, Sarah Carroll, Ella Hooper
Yorkshire Stingo, Thursday 23rd July 2026

I was looking forward to this and decided to book half a day off for it as soon as it came up due to missing it the last two years due to work.

Should have booked a table as I kept being asked to move around. It's a free show! Stop complaining about people occupying space if you don't want to move one iota!

Got my lunch at least and was able to have it during one of the bands. They changed the name of the fisherman's basket I had to ask where it was.

Had not seen a lot of these people for a while! Georgia Fields says she is having her album launch next year; I am looking forward to it. Talked to her about her last album launch and the kids rushing the stage at it (was such a "you had to be there" moment). "Hurry up mum!" indeed!

Was great to see Charles Jenkins again, Sarah said she heard me laughing on the broadcast during some of his intro bits. I listened back later and heard it too. Will try to make it to the Ice Cream Hands show this year for the Christmas gigs.

It had been quite a while since I had seen Leah Senior even though she did do support at one of Madeline Leman's gig a couple of years back. Not sure why I have not been to see her as she seems to be doing quite well now. I am sure there was a reason I didn't go to her recent launch but I can't quite remember now. Well, I've seen her now at least.

I am sure I had seen Rhiz and the Sugarplums before but obviously not as they are not coming up in my gigs. Must have heard of them and thought I had. I did enjoy them enough at this show to consider going to their launch in September though.

Sarah was Sarah, I have seen her enough to know what songs she would be doing. For this event I had to hold my tongue and not just have a conversation with her while she was on the stage or else it would go out on the radio.

The last time I saw Ella Hooper she was doing the Linda Ronstadt show, was great to see her again. I also got to give her a photo of the artwork I did of her and Kerryn Fields on the Christmas window last year and got a "BIG HUG! A-OHH!" I had forgotten Kerryn Fields is at the station a lot or would have done one for her too! The painting was based on the photo of the both of them with Ella standing on a bench so they are the same height (in the painting she is standing on a Christmas present dressed as an elf).

Was a great day and I pretty much just ended up getting the same train I would have gotten after work home as I get the Werribee line from Flinders St so I can actually get a seat!
